After careful review of the medical data, it has been hypothesized that declining levels rather than high levels of anabolic steroids are major contributors to prostate cancer (Prehn 1999). To investigate this point we performed a detailed review of the literature and found that the most commonly reported prostate cancer risk factors are: age, gender, and race ( Prehn 1999 ).
